It was a rather gloomy day here in Savannah. I woke up to tornado warnings, and bad storms. And after it passed David(Brent's younger brother) and I decided to do a little investigating. We drove to downtown Savannah where one of the most haunted houses in the city is. A little history on the house. The city of Savannah has put it on the "left to decay" list, due to all the activity in the house. Several people have purchased this house in the past, and after hiring contractors to redo it, workers have come out screaming refusing to go back in due to the ghosts that roam the house. Another known fact of the house is a blood stain on the second floor that no one can get out. Once cleaned it comes right back. The first owners of the house, when the city was first founded and started growing, were a family of five. Mother, father, three little girls. One evening the parents left the girls while they went to a dinner party. I'm assuming the girls were old enough to stay home alone. The parents came home that night to find all three of their girls brutally murdered. Speculations have been made, and many believe, that the crime was commited by "Jack the ripper". At the time crimes started to pop up in the city that were identical to "Jack the ripper." Several people think, including many a tour guide here that this ruthless killer had taken a ship from London town to Savannah. Needless to say, the house is one of the most haunted in Savannah. On my first visit to the house, which was about two and half years ago, in broad day light, I climbed the stairs wearing hiking boots, and on the way down fell, which felt more like a push leaving horrible bruises on my back. David who is quite the ghost hunter himself, has a good friend that lives a block from the house. They like to make visits to the house at night, and try to make contact with whatever still looms there. (Now whether or not this is after a few drinks, is not so hard to guess. Because if you've ever been to Savannah, the first thing they ask you is what you're drinking. This is the city where Jimmy Carter danced on the bar at one of our favorite spots. We like our liquor here.)
Just a few nights ago, David and his friend were at the house sitting on the top steps talking about the history of the house, when all of a sudden they heard a rapping on the bay window above them. The rapping continued, so hard in fact that the panes of the window were shaking. So they hi-tailed it out of there. Now let me tell you, this house is impossible to get into, believe me I tried, so we've ruled out someone alive being in the house. So here are some pictures of the house, next time you're in Savannah, if you're brave enough stop on by.
(This house however is really beautiful, but it has a sense of eeriness about it, you can even feel it from the pictures I took. As you can tell in some of the pictures you can see that people who tried to redo it just up and left, leaving furniture behind and such. I apologize for some of the blurry pictures, I was shaking the whole time!!)

Oh my God, did you see the face in the window of the 5th picture????? Just kidding! I am really into things like this and would love to go in there, maybe not in the dark but sometime during the day with all of the Edmonson boys to protect me!
Heck, they'd probably aggravate her and scare the heebie jeebies out of her!!! I love your new profile photo, is that one that David took??!! Put it on your blog so I can blow it up OK?? xxoo, Dawn
I noticed this house my first day in Savannah and was thoroughly creeped out by it. Then, I took a ghost tour that confirmed my feelings about the house. I doubt the stories are 100% true, but there is definitely something wrong with that house.
Take a look at the first picture, second row of windows, furthest on the left (next to the entrance). That's the room where the girls supposedly died. Looks like there's 'something' in the window...
Check out this information about the house, might be of use to the Professor:

The house looks A LOT less creepy!
I imagine that info about the age and builder of the house could be of value to a researcher.
I live in savannah and we went "ghost hunting" this weekend. we went to this house at night on friday to check it out. Very creepy! we tried to look in windows, tried to open doors but it was locked up very well. well today we went there again and the basement door opened right up! We walked around the basement there is no stairs, so we couldn't get up stairs. The basement was filled with building junk. chairs, toilets, wood ect. there is a fire place down there too and places where the floor is dug up.
The weird thing was while down there you can hear a low male voice we couldn't make out what it said ,and foot steps. then a door slam from inside the house ...that was enough we ran out.
